Seaford Town Council Adopts the Seaford Neighbourhood Plan

Submitted on 01 March 2019 by STC Officers

At an Extraordinary Full Council meeting on 28th February 2019, Seaford Town Council adopted the final draft Seaford Neighbourhood Plan.

The Council was presented with the final draft Plan by local volunteers which, following three-years of development  and consulting with residents and authorities, details what infrastructure and development residents/authorities have suggested is needed to sustain future housing growth in the Seaford area, taking into consideration the legal requirement to locate 185 new residences, local environment and sustainability, design, housing type, traffic and transport, economy, services and facilities.

The Plan will now be submitted to Lewes District Council for a further public consultation and then finally to an independent examiner, who checks that the Plan meets the right standards, before a local referendum where the residents of Seaford decide whether or not the plan should be adopted.

The Council thanked all the volunteers who have contributed to the plan which has received input or support from over 1,000 residents in total. But in particular thanks were given to Chairman Keith Blackburn and expert volunteer adviser Charles Grimble.
