The View at Seaford Head

Seaford Head Golf Course is one of the most spectacular golf courses in the country with mesmerising views of the sea, the South Downs, Cuckmere Valley and the famous Seven Sisters Cliffs. 300ft up on Seaford Head is the 18th tee from which is a magnificent view across Seaford Bay. At 489 yards, par 5, this is the longest and probably most exhilarating shot on the course.
A dedicated team of greenkeepers ensure the course and greens are kept in tip top condition.
Seaford was one of the first towns in England to establish a golf club, with Seaford Head Golf Course being founded by a small number of local residents in August 1887. It was extended to an 18 hole in 1889. The course and clubhouse were then taken over by Seaford Urban District Council in May 1928. During the Second World War the course was requisitioned by the military and ploughed up for food production; some of this is still evident even to this day on the 4th, 15th and 18th holes. It was reconstructed in 1946 and is now the responsibility of Seaford Town Council.
